The goal of the BioRobotics Lab is to improve medical outcomes through a combination of robotics, sensors, control systems, and AI via analog circuitry. The lab is currently working on the following: Cable drive transmission for MRI compatible robots, Optotactile sensors using stereo cameras to determine grasp force necessary to prevent gross slip, Complex mobile robot goal-seeking, Obstacle-avoiding behavior using analog circuitry, and portable three dimensional tactile displays using cable drive transmissions and digital servomotors.
