The Metals Manufacturing Processes Laboratory emphasizes machine shop and welding processes and safety.

Laboratory exercises include major lathe and milling projects which give the students a firm background on machining processes.

The welding exercises include SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Weld), GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Weld), FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Weld), GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Weld) of aluminum, and Oxyacetylene cutting. A sheet metal exercise using shear, press break, punch press, resistance spot welder and riveting is completed.
