The mission of the Texas A&M University Surface Mount Technology Laboratory is to educate engineers and technologists, and to conduct applied research in areas related to electronic board assembly.

Capabilities include solder paste printing, assembler, reflow oven, rework, instrumentation.

This laboratory has been made possible thanks to the support and donations from a number of companies, industry experts and Texas A&M University. Companies involved in this SMT initiative include Quad Systems, Amkor Technolgy, Solectron, K*Tec Electronics, Northrop-Grumman, Motorola, AlphaMetals, and Metal Etching Technologies.
