Biography: Dr. Capar has received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Industrial Engineering from Istanbul Technical University and Sabanci University, respectively. Upon completion of his Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering at Mississippi State University, he joined the Industrial Distribution Program at Texas A&M University as an Assistant Professor in 2007. Dr. Capar's research area lies in the application of operations research techniques to supply chain and logistics problems. He also performs research on transportation issues during incidents of national significance. He teaches courses in the areas of supply chain management, logistics, and quality issues in industrial distribution. He has worked on projects funded by various private industries and agencies such as the Economic Development Administration, National Center for Intermodal Transportation, and Department of Homeland Security. He is a member of ASEE, APICS, IIE, and INFORMS. |
