| ASME South Texas Section Recognizes MMET Students

The regional professional chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), South Texas Section recognized three MMET students during their Honors and Awards Banquet held on April 16th, 2009 at the Westchase Hilton Hotel in Houston. Jady Stevens and Marco Moncayo received the South Texas Scholarships valued at $1,300 per student for their academic success, leadership and involvement in the student chapter of ASME-Tech at A&M. Vincent Cline, former MMET student received the Hugh Scott Cameron award valued at $200. Vincent is a recent MMET graduate who is also pursuing a master degree in mechanical engineering at A&M in the area of thermal systems. Professor Jorge Alvarado, the student chapter advisor accompanied the students to the banquet in Houston. The students also had the opportunity to meet and interact with industry engineers, and students and faculty members from other universities in Texas during the event. |
