IEEE-TECH Update

IEEE-Tech had a successful spring semester! The Spring 2009 Golf Classic was a huge success. Representatives from a wide range of companies including Lockard & White, Cisco, Texas Instruments, Analog Devices, Philips Healthcare, RRT, IBM, and Novellus, along with several professors from ENTC showed up at the tournament to play a round of golf with EET and TET students.  Tom Munns from Reproductive Research Technologies and his team consisting of Dr. Zhan, Dr. Fink, and Alex Shaffer, won the tournament.  Following the tournament, IEEE-Tech, in collaboration with the ETID department, hosted a luncheon on the Fermier lawn for industry representatives and students to have one more chance to interact in a casual atmosphere.

Several industry representatives attended IEEE-Tech meetings throughout the semester to educate students on topics such as interviewing skills, resume writing, and understanding the current job market.  They also shared with the students,opportunities available for employment at their respective companies. In May, IEEE-Tech will host a faculty vs. students laser tag challenge in an attempt to help alleviate the stress associated with finals.

IEEE-Tech would like to thank the faculty and staff of the ETID department, industry representatives and student membership for their continued enthusiasm and support!  The 2009-2010 Officer Team is excited to get their plans underway and host another successful year for IEEE-Tech!
