Outstanding MMET Senior Awards

Brandon Estes , Outstanding Senior with Academic Excellence

Brandon Estes has been recognized for his academic excellence in the Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology program. Mr. Estes has made the Dean’s list several times throughout his college career.  In the spring of 2008, he was inducted into engineering technology’s highly respected undergraduate honors organization, Tau Alpha Pi.  He has also received one of five ConocoPhillips’ National Scholarships, won first place in the New Mexico Southeastern Regional Science Fair and been invited to join the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. He has worked at the Boys' and Girls' Club of the Brazos Valley as a computer lab director since the fall of 2005.


When asked about Brandon, a faculty member quoted, “He is a straight-A student in my Micro/nano Manufacturing class. Always sits at the front row, participates in class discussion, and leads others in lab exercises.” Other faculty members had similar feelings about his academic excellence saying, “Always an excellent student.  Always came to class and excelled in fluid mechanics and thermodynamics without too much difficulty.  Very professional and diligent in his work.” Upon graduation he has accepted a job as a Fracture Engineer through Halliburton and will begin work in June of this year.


Stacie Mullenberg , Outstanding Senior with Leadership Excellence

Stacie Mullenberg has been recognized for her academic leadership in the Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology program. Stacie transferred to MMET from Chemical Engineering stating, “I realized Chemical Engineering was not the place for me… I transferred to MMET and never looked back. The classes were the hands-on application I was craving.” Stacie previously served as a representative to the SEC, Student Engineering Council, and Secretary for ASME-Tech, American Society of Mechanical Engineers Technology and AWS, American Welding Society. She currently participates in the SME, Society of Manufacturing Engineers student organization where she serves as Secretary and Vice Chair Internal.  As an SME chair member she is involved in assisting with hosting meetings, guest speakers, cook-out events and working departmental recruiting events, such as Aggieland Saturday. Throughout her college career, Stacie has been involved in many other student organizations affiliated with Texas A&M, including Texas A&M Sports Car Club, Texas A&M Entrepreneurs Society, Texas A&M Regional Engineering Conference as well as Leaders in Freshman Engineering.  An MMET faculty member commented on Stacie’s nomination for the Academic Leadership award stating, “she has been an excellent leader for years…She is an excellent choice for this award.”


Stacie received her first internship through the Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology program with Grant Prideco in Navasota, TX as a Safety Engineering Intern. The following summer she worked as a Production Intern for Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream in Houston, TX. This is where Stacie found her calling in the food/beverage/consumer goods manufacturing industry.   She recently accepted a job with McCormick and Company as an Operations Process Engineer in the Flavor Division in Irving, TX.
